What is the OneSchool Awards Program?
The aim of the OneSchool Awards is to motivate students to achieve across the range of personal and academic qualities throughout their school years. There will be a nationally consistent program for implementation, nomination and selection of winners.
The First Prize for each category will be an OneSchool Gold Certificate and a gift.
The Second Prize for each category will be an OneSchool Silver Certificate and a gift.
Student Categories/Year Level Groups
Awards will be presented for the following year levels:
Year 11-12 First Prize–Gold Award Second Prize–Silver Award
Year 9-10 First Prize–Gold Award Second Prize–Silver Award
Year 7-8 First Prize–Gold Award Second Prize–Silver Award
Year 5-6 First Prize–Gold Award Second Prize–Silver Award
Year 3-4 First Prize–Gold Award Second Prize–Silver Award
There are five separate areas in which each candidate must be graded:
1. Involvement in School Activities
Adaptability, enthusiasm, encouragement, team spirit, inclusiveness
Role model, responsibility, respect, consistency, acceptance, loyalty
3. Academic Achievement
Assessment results, perseverance, accomplishments, versatility
4. Fulfilling potential
Persistence, understanding, focus, resilience, maturity
5. Management skills
Initiative, organization, co-operation, reflection, communication
Nominations are made by teachers and/or the Campus Coordinators. Nominations must be received by the selection panel by the end of term 4. The selection panel includes senior school personnel e.g. Principal, a Campus Coordinator, School Board Member, Primary/Secondary Administration Manager Etc.
The OneSchool Awards winners are announced at the whole school (VC) assembly at the beginning of the new school year. The presentation should be used to motivate all students towards achievement and excellence, as well as reward the winners. The winners will be listed in newsletters of all participating campuses
Determination of the Award will be based on an outstanding or exceptional contribution to his/her group, or to aspects of the wider Campus community.
