On Thursday the 9th of March 2017, our geography class went on a trip to Jaydee’s farm in TauWhare. We left school at 10:00am and after a 10 minute drive we arrived at the farm. After being greeted by the farmers Dave and Jenny Van Den Beuken, we got shown around the farm. Firstly we went into the shed which the milk vat was in. Jenny showed us how the milk came into the shed and how it got cleaned and filtered before it got picked up by a large Fonterra truck. Dave proceeded to take us around the farm, showing us the feeding pad, the milking system, the effluent pond and many more intriguing features around the farm. After asking our questions and taking photos, we climbed back in the van and headed for school, arriving back there at 11:30 am. Thankyou Mr Geoff and Mrs Khan for taking us to the farm.
