Over 800 teachers, community supporters, administrative staff and global executives came together for the 2018 Leading Remarkable Learning event in the UK, in February.

Held at the Birmingham NEC centre, the large venue was full of enthusiastic staff and community supporters actively participating in the professional development and networking opportunities.

On the first of the day of the two-day conference, the OneSchool Global leadership team shared an overview of the Global OneSchool strategy. As a demonstration of the OneSchool vision of “developing life-ready students who learn how to learn”, we heard from two students Bryce Ashmore and Braden Walker who shared their personal examples of how the OneSchool Global self-directed learning program is empowering their learning.

On the second day of the programme LRL attendees had the opportunity to hear from and be challenged by a range of high quality speakers. Our very own Lucas Bedell (Regional Principal Canada) and Gillian McCartney (Teacher Academy Director UK) delivered outstanding talks and were accompanied by leading education academic Mark Osborne, Sarah Martin - Principal of Stonefields School New Zealand and best-selling author, Richard Gerver.

Regional Principal Matt Philllps commented that the event was yet another example of OneSchool’s commitment to professional development for its staff.

“OneSchool is privileged to have many outstanding teachers and to have the opportunity to bring them together for such a high-quality conference just shows our ongoing commitment to professional development for staff and learning outcomes for our students,” said Matt.

Regional Principals, Regional COOs and global leads came together for two days of strategy and planning meetings at the Focus School offices in Warwick in the lead up to the conference.
