Today, Friday the 23rd of June we held a Refugee Day across South Campus. This day raises awareness as to the many refugees that are in less fortunate situations around the globe. The year 13 geographers have recently completed and internal which studied the Syrian Refugee crisis which has left over 6.6million externally displaced Syrians.
Students and Staff wore the colour blue as this symbolises hope for Refugees.
This day was very successful as we raised a total of $605.10 for World Vision. Thanks year 12s for the delicious morning tea.
After sending off our notes of hope for the Refugee, Timaru got one reply, one of our balloons was picked up by Steve who was in a pilot boat one mile from shore.
This was an awesome day which helped to build a better culture within South Campus.
